Okay, here’s someone I never expected to meet and probably would have never sought out. His name is Joe Dallesandro and I would guess that most of you have never heard of him. He was, however, one of the most famous male sex symbols of American undergound films and the gay subculure of the 1960’s and 70’s. In the gorgeous senior photo at left is Amy Meredith. This photo was sent to me following our last year at Camp Woodland Altars together. Amy and I had attended Youth Camp together in 1987, 1988, and 1989. We were in the same group led by Kevin Dull and Judy Yoder in 1988. She was always one of my favorite people in the camp – smart, pretty, kind, and with a great sense of humor. Elliott Gould reached the apex of his film career in the 1970’s with notable roles in such classic films as MASH, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (which garnered him an Academy Award nomination), A Bridge Too Far, and The Long Goodbye. But it has been some his more recent work (following a very silent period of low budget rubbish) that has grabbed my attention. 2010. I just really can’t believe this. Another year has come and gone. Another decade has come and gone. And I am beginning a whole new five-year period on this website. In some bizarre way, I have been dreading the coming of 2010.
