Chekov…Check!

wkAs I continue to check off my list of meeting cast members from the original Star Trek series, Walter Koenig, who portrayed Pavel Chekov, was the most recent in my short list of encounters. Although my first two meetings (with George Takei and Leonard Nimoy) fall into the category of ‘chance encounters,’ the one with Mr. Koenig was hardly out of this world. He was appearing, along with a host of other celebs, including some from more recent incarnations of Star Trek, at the Chiller Theatre show on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Read the rest of this entry »

The Odd Couple

odd2No, this title doesn’t refer to my endless parade of wives – or girlfriends – or anything of the sort. I know I’ll take some flack for this, but I must always be honest on this website. I have never seen a single episode of the Tony Randall and Jack Klugman series The Odd Couple. Before you get too upset, rest assured that I now have the first two seasons of the show in my possession and will get cracking here sometime soon. I have in fact seen the Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau film that pre-dated the sitcom. Read the rest of this entry »

A Very Brady Afternoon

bb8So who doesn’t love The Brady Bunch– either openly or secretly? I was actually a little later than some of my friends at getting into the series, not having watched my first episodes after school until about 1983 or so. But I quickly got hooked on the corny adventures of America’s favorite family with afros. I felt like I was right there being cool with Greg, being a loser with Peter, getting in the way with Bobby, drooling over Marcia, wanting Jan to fail miserably, and being protective of little Cindy. Gee Wally, Why’d It Take Two Decades?

tony5One benefit of reading this website is that you get to witness history in the making. Last year I displayed my collection of Leave It To Beaver cast autographs up to that point, which can be seen here. At that time I lamented that I had been unsuccessful at obtaining the signature of Tony Dow, the actor who played Wally in the series. Through-the-mail attempts had been thwarted and even an attempt to purchase a signature yielded me an unfortunate forgery. Read the rest of this entry »
