"Now I forgot the safe words again. SAY 'EM!" - Carol, "Saturday Night Live"

Her big break came with a recurring role on Beverly Hills, 90210. Now she is starring in a supporting role on Life Unexpected. But I really care about actress Emma Caulfield is that she played the incredibly charming and hilarious Anya in 85 episodes of Buffy Vampire Slayer. She was a love-spited vengeance demon, who was eventually tamed by falling in love with lead actor Xander. Anya was always good for a laugh as she bumbled her way through life trying to get used to the modern day world. One of my favorite moments on the show was in the musical episode where she and Xander sing the duet I’ll Never Tell. Read the rest of this entry »

The Seinfeld Bosses

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

As a true Seinfeld buff, I relish the opportunity to meet anyone who has ever been associated with the show, no matter how small their roles may have been. The two guys here both had memorable roles of playing bosses to two of the major characters. Richard Herd (seen at right with Jason Alexander) played George’s immediate supervisor when he worked for the New York Yankees in 11 episodes of the show, including the finale. His roles go well beyond his stint on Seinfeld though, as he appeared on many TV shows such as M*A*S*H, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and a major recurring role on T.J. Hooker. Film credits include All the Presidents Men, Private Benjamin, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Read the rest of this entry »

Skippy AKA Baby Boy Doe

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

One of my favorite episodes of the classic sitcom Family Ties was the one when Alex’s friend Skippy comes to the realization that he was adopted. In an act of defiance, he inisists that everyone begin calling him by his birth name Baby Boy Doe. The actor who made numerous appearances as Skippy was Marc Price – and in essence, he stole almost every scene he was in. He didn’t do a whole lot on screen outside his role on Family Ties, but he did have the lead in the heavy metal thriller Trick or Treat starring Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne. Olivia d’Abo

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

There was absolutely no good reason why it took so long to get through the line to see Olivia d’Abo. There seemed to be only a few people in front of me, yet it took nearly 20 minutes of standing there before we moved forward. Those 20 minutes were at least spent staring at Olivia and admiring her beauty. And I guess, it must have been her friendliness that kept her chatting with fans who clearly wanted to gawk as long as they could when she appeared at the Chiller Theatre Show in Parsippany, New Jersey, on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Denizens of Twin Peaks – Part 2

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

Continuing on with the great Twin Peaks cast reunion from the Hollywood Show on Saturday, October 9, 2010, are the final three cast members of the show. (See the other major posting here). One of the most enigmatic of all of the characters in the show was the Log Lady, who had propensity for carrying and communicating with – yes, you guessed it – a log. She actually had a name in the show – it was Margaret Lanterman – but fans of Twin Peaks just knew her best as the Log Lady. Read the rest of this entry »
