Okay, that title was corny. But that doesn’t make it any less true. Of all the national Top 40 radio announcers I have enjoyed, Casey Kasem surely ranks at the top. (Can’t really think of any others, but that is beside the point). I do in fact have really swell memories of my Sunday morning paper route with my Mom or my Dad, listening to Casey Kasem’s top 100 or top 40 countdown, whichever it may be, and his soothing voice which blended with the aroma of my parents’ morning coffee as we puttered along dispensing the Dayton Daily News at the crack of dawn.

Most recently he has twice appeared as a judge in two of the Coen Brothers’ The Man Who Wasn’t There and Intolerable Cruelty.
For years, Ray Walston tried to shed the image of Martin the Martian that he had obtained in his most popular series My Favorite Martian. The culmination of the fifth intenational Sons of the Desert convention in Valley Forge (actually King of Prussia), Pennsylvania came on the evening of Tuesday, July 29, 1986. This final banquet was quite a memorable one as it involved not only a recreation of Toyland from the 1934 Laurel and Hardy film Babes in Toyland, but featured celebrities from the original film itself!
