Hank Garrett – Oh, There You Are

Hank Garrett had been on my list of autographs to get for some ten years, starting way back when he first start appearing at collectors shows in the 1990’s. For one reason or another, I never ended up getting his autograph because he either didn’t show up or Bob forgot to pick it up. The most amazing thing about the pop phenomenon band of the 1960’s The Monkees was that they were formed solely for the purpose of a television show. Micky Dolenz for example couldn’t even play the drums and was subjected to intensive training so he could even ‘mime’ the activity sufficently. From the popularity of the show in which the actors were only playing rock stars, they actually ended up becoming rocks stars, producing several acclaimed albums including the amazing Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.
Mark Metcalf has the distinction in starring in three completely different roles in film and TV (and even music video) that I have enjoyed over the years. Neidermeyer in National Lampoon’s Animal House, one of my favorite childhood movies – edited for TV version of course – of the late 70’s and early 80’s.
No, this title doesn’t refer to my endless parade of wives – or girlfriends – or anything of the sort. I know I’ll take some flack for this, but I must always be honest on this website. I have never seen a single episode of the Tony Randall and Jack Klugman series The Odd Couple. Before you get too upset, rest assured that I now have the first two seasons of the show in my possession and will get cracking here sometime soon. I have in fact seen the Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau film that pre-dated the sitcom.
