Brad's Musings and Meanderings

"You gentlemen aren't REALLY trying to kill my son, are you?" - Clara Thornhill, "North By Northwest"

zach2Once upon a time there was a curly-headed guy who had virtually no career of note, but had the good fortune to star in one of the most fun pictures ever produced. The movie was called Gremlins and the guy played the role of Billy Peltzer. The guy’s name was Zach Galligan and he was a very lucky guy because he got to make time with a hot princess named Phoebe Cates. After Gremlins, he went on to star in a fun sequel called Gremlins 2: The New Batch, which wasn’t quite as good as the first one, but was still rather fun.  Zach has continued to make movies up to the present day, but no one has ever heard of any of them – except for The Love Boat: The Next Wave – but everyone wishes they hadn’t.

One day Zach was at the Chiller Theatre show in Parsippany, New Jersey on April 18, 2009, signing autographs for fans. Another boy named Brad was a big fan of Gremlins, so had previously purchased a signed photo of Zach from one of the Hollywood Collectors shows of the late 1990s. Brad had never met Zach though, so he wanted a photo with him. He brought his signed photo of Zach with him so that Zach would not think that he was a deadbeat who just wanted a photo without making any sort of purchase.

Zach was kind enough to agree to pose for a photo for free, but Brad then discovered the strangest phenomenon. Zach wouldn’t stand up. Brad had seen this behavior in older celebrities and was always happy to crouch down, but this was the first time he had seen it in a young strong man like Zach. It appeared that Zach wanted to put his arm around Brad to pretend that they were friends, but it ended up resulting in a very odd, uncomfortable looking photo.

Brad was very happy to have met Zach and gotten to pose for a photo with him, but will always be puzzled about the Gremlin killer who wouldn’t stand up.

Celebs of the Chiller Theatre show will continue

  1. I thought Gremlins 2 was hilarious.
    That is all.

  2. Maybe he thought he was a book signer. Those guys don’t usually stand up, do they?
