"After viewing the situation from all sides, Mr. Laurel says that he is thoroughly reconciled to the fact that the moving picture industry is still in its infancy." - Radio announcer, "Me and My Pal"

tx3I think that I learned that I must not be 5 foot 11 inches tall when I met Kristanna Loken. Because that’s how tall she is, and she was taller than me. I remembered that she was taller, because you don’t soon forget standing next to a gorgeous blonde girl whom you’ve witnessed as a cold-blooded liquid-metal killer. And in the case of Kristanna Loken, you don’t soon forget her regardless of the whole killer thing.

She had portrayed T-X, the terminator (or in this case, terminatrix) who was sent from the future to kill John Connor in the third installment of the Terminator franchise Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. This of course is her biggest claim to fame to date. I haven’t seen any of her other films (although I must say that the flick Naked Before the World sounds interesting), but I have spotted her in a couple of interesting TV roles: that of a model in Just Shoot Me and as Penny Barnes, Jimmy Olsen’s girlfriend who deduces that Jimmy is Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

Those two roles were cool to be sure, but still I naturally went with the Terminator connection when it came to getting my autograph. She was charging $30 and offered a free photo with her – which I had no qualms about snapping up. Fortunately neither she nor I melted before it was all over.
