"There is no life I know to compare with pure imagination. Living there, you'll be free if you truly wish to be." - Willy Wonka, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"

I’ve had a crush on Rosanna Arquette since I first saw her quirky beauty in Amazon Women on the Moon. Her appearance in Playboy was on my mind during my 1990 vacation to Sebastian, Florida – although when I finally saw it, I was mildly disappointed. But the one thing that clinched her position as a gleaming star in my mind was her role in one of my favorite films Pulp Fiction. She portrayed Jody, the pierced companion of Eric Stoltz during Uma Thurman’s heroin overdose scene.

Most however might find her most famous role to be as the sidekick to Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan. And it is also worth noting that her first film was More American Graffiti – and I would go on to meet five cast members of the original film later that year.

When I met her at the Hollywood Collectors Show in Burbank on July 18, 2009, she was still beautiful, but rather quiet. She commented that no one had yet chosen the photo from Pulp Fiction (above) that I did and I told her that this surprised me, considering the popularity of the film. I was hoping that she would think that this was such an intelligent statement that she would kiss me on the lips at this point, but it didn’t happen.

Celebs of the 2009 Hollywood Collectors Show will continue
