Kristine

Sunday, October 3rd, 2010

Shortly after Christi, my ex-girlfriend and mother of my daughter Ashleigh, made the military move to Little Rock, Arkansas, in the late 1970′s, she was introduced to the little girl across the street. Christi was a shy little girl, eyes fixated on the floor, but when she met little Kristine Sieverding, she had no choice but to perk up when the bubbly little girl began gabbing away. For the next eight or nine years, Christi and Kristine were the best of friends. Read the rest of this entry »

Richard Nixon and Me

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

For many years, the name Richard Nixon brought cringes to the faces of the American people. His claim to fame among the presidents was the fact that he was the only United States President to resign from office after the scandalous Watergate break-in, which it was proven that he had knowledge of and that he participated in a cover-up of. It is, however, unlikely that he ever ended his sentences as poorly as that last one, what with two prepositions and all. But back on the subject, it should be remembered that our nations 37th leader had some good points too. Bettie Page

The initiative that had been going on from July thru December 1997 came to it’s climax and close with my last successful effort being Bettie Page. Read the rest of this entry »

Star Wars in Fairborn

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

While not a complete Star Wars junkie, I am a fan of the franchise, so when the opportunity presents itself, I generally snap up any autographs of members of the cast of both the original films and the later prequels. On Monday, December 8, 1997, I got the chance to meet two members of the Star Wars family at the Bookery Fantasy comic book store in my hometown of Fairborn, Ohio: Kenny Baker, the dwarf actor who was the performer inside the R2-D2 costume in all six of the films, and John Hollis, who played Lobot in The Empire Strikes Back. At the time, I had no idea that Hollis was Lando Calrissian’s cyborg aide - but that didn’t stop my from purchasing one of his photos. Read the rest of this entry »

The Lull Before Gale Storm

Sunday, April 4th, 2010

For years I was angry at Gale Storm. Well, maybe not angry with her, but I was angry at the situation. I had obtained a great signature of Charles F*rrell on a photo from My Little Margie, a popular sitcom from the early 1950′s that I came to know from reruns broadcast on the CBN network in the mid-1980′s.  I had gotten this over the Summer of 1985 and by that December, I tried to send it off to F*rrell’s co-star Gale Storm. It was never returned. Read the rest of this entry »
