"I had a much nicer voice until I ran a nail through it." - Stan Laurel, "The Bohemian Girl"

Some may remember the title of this posting as a line from the pathological liar Tommy Flanagan, the character played by Jon Lovitz on Saturday Night Live as he referred to his wife…Morgan Fairchild. This was of course his way of untruthfully indicating that he was married to a really hot actress, who at that time in 1985 was starring in the mini-series North and South and just beginning her one year run on Falcon Crest.

I was always familiar with the name Morgan Fairchild (who from the Jon Lovitz skit, was synonymous with glamour), but I hadn’t really seen any of her performances in the nighttime soaps like Falcon Crest and Dallas. I did however become more familiar with her when she portrayed Chandler’s Mom Nora in the TV sitcom Friends.

Although I was not at all pleased with the extremely hefty price tag of $25 for a signed photo and an additional $20 to get a photo with her when she appeared at the Chicago Hollywood Collectors show on Saturday, March 14, 2010, I still took went ahead and did it just for the sake of getting a picture with this legendary icon of the 70’s and 80’s. I really had nothing to say to her after forking over my money, but I was enthralled how beautiful she still was at the age of 60. Apparently, she had found the Fountain of Youth at some point. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
