The Hottest Bradford

I didn’t tune into Eight Is Enough all that terribly often, but you can bet that even at a young age I had my opinion on the ladies of the Bradford family. Mary had that older/wiser thing going; Joanie was the smart, nerdy one; Susan was a delightfully cute freckle-faced redhead; Connie was on the verge of blossoming into a looker; and Nancy was just plain hot. Nancy was played by Dianne Kay, and during the run of the series, she’d also appear in the Steven Spielberg film 1941. Other than that, most of her other roles were sadly relegated to guest spots on such TV shows as Starsky & Hutch, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, and Murder, She Wrote. Read the rest of this entry »
Bob and I found ourselves in Natick, Massachusetts on the morning of Saturday, July 7, 2012. We had driven to this city to escape the high prices of motels in the Boston area, but most of our business that morning would be on Boston outskirt town of Cambridge, home of Harvard University. After a hearty breakfast of eggs and sausages, we left Natick a bit before 9am and arrived at the Mount Auburn Cemetery (which we had scoped out the night before) by 9:30. This was a neat cemetery with a convenient search kiosk. Although most of the more notable names were on the cemetery map, there were a few that Bob had added to the list that we had to locate using the kiosk. So I handled that part. 
Star Wars buffs would know that Jason Wingreen was the uncredited voice of Boba Fett in Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back. But only for a while. It only remained there for the original release and the 1997 re-release, but by the time the DVD rolled around in 2004, Boba’s voice had been re-dubbed by Temuera Morrison in order to create better continuity between the two trilogies. Anyway. Although I am certainly interested in Star Wars, that really had nothing to do with my interest in Jason Wingreen. 
Business first. That’s my motto. Although I was ready to indulge in plenty of Laurel and Hardy frolics and frippery with my fellow Sons of the Desert, there was a historical location nearby that I needed to get under my belt. Although Bob and I had driven by the New Hampshire state capitol in Concord the previous Friday, weren’t able to go though it since it was after-hours. I had thus far only compromised going inside a capitol building one time, and visiting this this one would give me six on this trip that were fully toured. So that’s how I started my day on Thursday, July 19, 2012.
