What Does the Fox Say?

Until I met her, I don’t think I had ever seen her with her top on… but hey, who’s complaining? My association with Samantha Fox is somewhat interesting in that I had never seen her in an issue of the British Tabloid The Sun, where she first garnered her fame as a “Page 3” girl…nor have I ever heard a single note of her music. I suppose you’d call it a bit of a ‘nostalgia thing’ for me. Read the rest of this entry »
It didn’t take much prodding to get my Dad to go along with me to Pittsburgh. I think he felt just as excited about meeting George “The Animal” Steele as I was. Carolyn on the other hand wasn’t all that thrilled at the prospect, so she decided that it wasn’t worth requesting off for – since there’d be so many other worthy requests. So Dad agreed to go, then Carolyn got off without asking, but then got asked to work on the Saturday of the show – April 12, 2014 – so it ended up just being Dad and me disembarking at around 6am that morning.

For as far back as I can remember, I’d always wanted to meet the Animal. If ever there was proof that wrestling was fake … choreographed … just one big scam, it was the existence of George “The Animal” Steele. My Dad and I used to crack up at his antics on Georgia Championship Wrestling in the mid 1980’s and the followed some of his incredible storylines when he moved to the WWF in the late 80’s. Through his career, he only managed to sputter a few noises, grunts, and later, single words to the likes of a very distraught Mean Gene Okerlund.
