Steven Bauer, Man from the South

There are times when I literally have no idea who I’m talking to when I meet a celebrity – and that often leads to a pleasant surprise. Case in point: Steven Bauer. He was set to appear at the Chiller Theatre show on October 27, 2012, and I knew from a cursory search of his career that he had played a major role in the 1983 Al Pacino film Scarface. As far as 1980’s movie entertainment goes, there are certainly better comedies than Weekend at Bernie’s, but I sincerely can’t think of many that generate as many constant belly laughs. You’ve probably seen many photos and mentions of Arline during the course of this website, and yet I don’t think I ever really explained exactly who she was or why she was at a lot of our family funcitons throughout the years. She is my Dad’s first cousin, the daughter of my Grandma Range’s sister Bessie, and Bessie’s husband Joe. So that makes her my first cousin once removed. Admittedly, this seems like a relatively distant relative (no pun intended) to be spending Christmas Eves with.

Here’s the story…of two young ladies…who liked to hang out with our favorite clan…Even though they really were…never Bradys…I’ll get them when I can. Yes my love of all things Bradys has extended from the kids in the original series, to the fake actresses who replaced some of the girls, to the spin-off series, to the re-tooled films, and now to the supporting cast. To have starred in an episode of The Brady Bunch makes you a desirable commodity in my estimation.
