Journey Onto Imagination
Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
Mom, Bob, and I had had a great time exploring Miami the day before, but now it was time to move on to our next destination: the Imagination ship which part of the fleet of cruise liners – the fifth of eight build in the Fantasy class. Not only was the ship itself similar to the Ecstasy that I had Mom and I had both been on for the 1996 Sons of the Desert convention, but we would also be making the same two stops in Key West and Cozumel that we did on that cruise. I hadn’t been on a cruise of any sort since then, while Mom had been on several. Read the rest of this entry »
The good news was that I had managed to time my cruise just right that I could head out to Los Angeles immediately after it ended and attend the winter Hollywood Show on Saturday, February 12, 2011. The bad news was that unlike most shows that I’ve attended over the last few years that had over 100 celebrities, this show had less than 70 scheduled. We were in Miami and I had an agenda. That much you can count on for sure. I had suggested to Mom that staying in Miami for a day before we embarked on our four-day cruise was imperative. After all, I had no idea when I might get back to see the Hard Rock Cafe and other things. The Hard Rock in Miami we had picked up the night before, but we still had a full day’s adventure ahead of us on Sunday, February 6, 2011 – otherwise known as Super Bowl Sunday.
At least that’s the way I always looked at it. Which makes it a no-brainer to do things like fly directly to Los Angeles from Miami, immediately following the cruise vacation that my Mom, Bob, and I had just taken. After going through customs at the port on Friday, February 11, 2011, I caught the shuttle bus to the Miami airport. I had only been mildly concerned about the early time of my flight, but I arrived with a full half-hour to spare before we even boarded the plane. I picked up the Miami magnet that I had missed when we had last been in Miami and caught my flight at 11:30am.
