The Livingston Brothers: Two of My Three Sons

I could go on lamenting from now until doomsday about how few photos I had taken of me with various celebrities who attended the same Hollywood Collectors Shows as I did in both 1995 and 1997 – but it wouldn’t change the fact that it remains exceptionally difficult to conjure up the facts of exactly who I met and when. Especially considering that I had obtained so many of their autographs before the shows that I often I would simply walk by them without acknowledging them, lest they attempt to sell me an autograph that I already owned. Those Were the Days

All in the Family is certainly one of the greatest television sit-coms of all time. It definitely ranks in my top ten favorite shows. It has special meaning to me in a way too -because it was this show that was being broadcast at the time that I was born. My Dad still remembers watching the episode Archie in the Lock-Up in the hospital waiting room on that fateful evening of October 2, 1971. The show’s theme song “Those Were the Days” was one of the very first songs I ever learned. My Uncle Ed still remembers me singing “Dozer da Days” at the top of my lungs in the car during our visit to Washington D.C. in 1973. Read the rest of this entry »

An ode to Three’s Company…It was December 10, 1985 when my flirtation with collecting autographs from the cast members of Three’s Company first began. When sending requests through the mail, I generally steered clear of most ‘high-caliber’ stars of the current day. They were generally met with one form of rejection or another. However, John Ritter did not disappoint me. He signed both the photo that I sent him along with two notecards, even adding a humorous inscription on one. All in the Family was always one of my very favorite TV sit-coms, so I was ecstatic to find that Sally Struthers would be appearing at the Hollywood Collectors Show during my February visit to California. Having already gotten her autograph through the mail in 1998, I didn’t need to purchase any additional signed photos, but brought the photo that she was kind enough to send me just in case she wondered why I wasn’t buying. In addition to more recent photo at left, she had also signed an All in the Family cast shot that already had the signatures of Caroll O’Connor and Jean Stapleton – which I will display at a later time.
