Tim Kazurinsky

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Of all of the celebrities whom I met on September 25, 2010, at the Hollywood Celebrity show in Chicago, I’d have to say that Tim Kazurinsky was the friendliest. He is probably best known as being a repertory cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1981-84, doing a wide variety of characters and celebrity impressions. He really seemed to be in his element when performing a crotchety old man such as Mr. Robinson’s (played by Eddie Murphy) landlord. One of my personal favorite roles of that of Pa Greavy in the John Belushi/Dan Aykroyd under-rated vehicle Neighbors. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey Hey It’s a Third Monkee!

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

I was pretty darn thrilled to have met one of the Monkees when I first saw Mickey Dolenz in 2008. Then when I got the chance to meet Davy Jones in 2009, I was even happier. The pattern has continued into 2010 when I got the chance to meet a third member of the iconic band (and TV Show) The Monkees. Peter Tork was appearing at the Hollywood Show on October 9, 2010 – alongside my first Monkee man Mickey Dolenz. So now I can say that I have met more than half the Monkees. And naturally, I’m hoping that my pattern will continue and I might get a crack at Michael Nesmith this year. Read the rest of this entry »

Striking a Deal With the Grim Reaper

William Sadler was charging an additional $10 to get a picture with him after buying an autograph for $20 – and I didn’t care for that proposition. In fact he was on my ‘solid maybe’ list to even pick up his signature at all while he was making an appearance at the Chiller Theatre Show in Parsippany, New Jersey on Saturday, October 30. Perhaps he thought he could merit this exorbitant amount of money because he was one of those Star Trek people, having portrayed Luther Sloan in Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He had a few other notable roles as well, in such fine films as The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and Hard To Kill. Read the rest of this entry »

Her big break came with a recurring role on Beverly Hills, 90210. Now she is starring in a supporting role on Life Unexpected. But I really care about actress Emma Caulfield is that she played the incredibly charming and hilarious Anya in 85 episodes of Buffy Vampire Slayer. She was a love-spited vengeance demon, who was eventually tamed by falling in love with lead actor Xander. Anya was always good for a laugh as she bumbled her way through life trying to get used to the modern day world. One of my favorite moments on the show was in the musical episode where she and Xander sing the duet I’ll Never Tell. Read the rest of this entry »

2011: The Bar Raises Yet Again

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011

As I worked my way into the final couple of weeks of the year, I just sat back and rested on my laurels, pleased with what I had done through the year, happy that I’ve gathered some great experiences, met some interesting people, and created a nostalgic time capsule of memories that I can always return to should I wish to reminisce. But once I crossed over into the new year – in this case 2011 – I thought to myself  “holy crap! I’ve got to do this all over again!” The truth is that I thought that I could wind down on the adventures after 2009, so as I entered 2010, I didn’t make any promises. I didn’t set out to raise the bar…but I did. Read the rest of this entry »
