The First of the Cousins Parties – And Other Relatives in Early 1972

Here is an assortment of nice color slides taken at the houses of various family members – including ours on Echo Hill, highlighting a couple of family get-togethers. As I mentioned in a previous posting, our families – as they continue to do now – always spent a lot of time together. The allusion to the ‘cousins parties’ in the title comes from a series of gatherings from the late 90’s and early 2000’s of the older cousins on my Mom’s side. My extended families have always been tight-knit. I’ve always been close with my Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It’s easy to see why since my parents started me off right by making frequent visits to their parents and then posing me in pictures with them. These are from the series of slides from the early months of 1972 that my Dad took with his relatively new camera. My maternal Grandparents were living on Cunnington in Kettering and my Grandma and Oscar were on Bellaire in Belmont.
As time rolled on and we got through the Christmas holiday and the New Year celebration of 1972, I chose to make my New Year resolution to get some teeth. Immediately I began concentrating on forcing them out of my head and through my gums. By January 22, the first one was poking through. About a week later the second one bagan to make its way into the world. Soon it would be time for steak.
