Donna Mills 2005

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

donna_mills.jpgI supposed I spoiled any suspense or anticipation on whether or not I ever met Donna Mills in my last celebs from 2005 posting about Thora Birch. More than one person asked me if that was her standing behind us in the photo. So here’s the answer: yes it was. But honestly I never noticed her in that shot before and have no idea why she was behind the velvet rope with the stars of the production of Casablanca. Nor did I really even know who she was until someone pointed her out…nor did I know exactly what she had done! Read the rest of this entry »

January 1996

96a.jpgI hadn’t kept a journal for a couple of years, when the urge once again struck me to at least begin recording my day-to-day routine in some regard - no matter how small. And it certainly was small. My Kroger co-worker Marilyn McKinley always gave a calendar to the fellow employees for Christmas and I decided to utilize it to enter a microscopic synopsis of each day’s events in 1996 and most of 1997. A Very Short Trip to Pigeon Forge in 2005

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

gat2.jpgThe day after our little birthday party for Ashleigh and Briana at home, My Mom, Carolyn, Ashleigh, and I embarked on a half-week trip to Gatlinburg – more specifically staying in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We left on Sunday morning March 20, 2005 and headed south, arriving approximately six hours later and checking into the Holiday Inn and went out for one of our dinners. I was equipped with a smattering of TV on DVD and was equipped with Mom’s portable DVD player to hook into the hotel’s television. Read the rest of this entry »

Christi’s Senior Prom 1991

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

prom13.jpgOn the exact same day that my future wife Lisa was turning 15 years old, on Saturday May 18, 1991, Christi and I were busy primping ourselves and stuffing ourselves into our Senior Prom duds – my black tuxedo and her blue dress and silver shoes, preparing for the final prom for both of us. We were drawing to the end of Christi’s Senior year at Beavercreek High School. I was close to finishing my first year of college at Wright State University. Read the rest of this entry »

Charcoal

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

char2.jpgIt wasn’t too long after our cat Laddy ran away sometime between 1975 and ’76 that a new stray kitten ingratiated himself to us and merged his little self into our household. My Dad gave him the moniker Charcoal simply because he was solid gray…charcoal gray. I had established a fondness for kitties at a young age, and I fell in love with this little guy right off the bat. We decided to keep him as an outdoor cat that would occasionally come inside.
