Savannah Riverboat and Haunted Tour
Tuesday, October 31st, 2006
Today is Halloween, so I thought it would be appropriate to continue with our Georgia trip and our day in Savannah on the Riverboat and the Haunted tour that followed…
Following our tour and free-time shuffling through Savannah, Ashleigh and I met up with our Sons of the Desert friends Bob, Marcia, and Lori and boarded a riverboat that travelled up and down the Savannah River. I always enjoy a nice riverboat cruise even when there is really nothing going on. Read the rest of this entry »
As we entered February, 1990, the times were filled with excitement and anticipation for the new baby. The first group to hold a baby shower for us was the Junior High Youth Group at the Beavercreek Church of the Brethren, where we were regularly attending.
Our Sons of the Desert chapter, the A-Haunting We Will Go Tent, gathered together last Saturday, October 21 (one day after his actual birthday in 1893) to celebrate the unsung genius of Charley Chase. Charley was yet another talented performer that came into being at the Hal Roach Studios, along with Laurel and Hardy, Our Gang, Thelma Todd, Harold Lloyd, and so many others. While our tent is primarily devoted to the preservation of the memory of Laurel and Hardy, most of our members agree that there is a need to celebrate Charley as well, so we have held an annual tribute to him every year for the past four years.
On Saturday night, Ashleigh came home with her friends, and like any teenager worthy of the title, forgot to close the garage door. This wasn’t really that big of a deal. We live in a relatively safe neighborhood so no one stole our cars.
