Christmas Newsletter 2008
Sunday, December 21st, 2008
The ABC crew (currently consisting of Ashleigh, Brad, Baby, Briana, and Clementine) is proud to present our sixth annual family Christmas Newsletter. This edition was completed on Thursday, December 18, 2008 after exactly five days of tumultuous work, the least of which wasn’t trying to convince Ashleigh and especially Briana to get their parts completed. Forty-four printed copies were hand signed and distributed as our Christmas cards and now it is reprinted here for all to ignore. More boring technical notes follow at the bottom of the page. In putting together my posting of the goings-on of December 2008, I realized how odd and eclectic my lifestyle can at times be. Of course, I wouldn’t change anything about it, but I wanted to point out the complete opposite ends of of a three-sided spectrum that some of these events represent: from a drunken fiesta with wild associates, to a gathering of vintage film geeks, to the family party of a ninety year old great-uncle, it’s hard to tie these events together in any way, shape, or form…other than the fact that they all occurred in the merry month of December.

So after we finished up with our lunch with
I was a bit disappointed when I got up the morning of Friday, July 18, 2008. It wasn’t that bad taking a shower in the bathroom with the glass door in our little room at the Hotel Kurcafe in Füssen, Germany…but I was a bit distressed when I went downstairs to use the internet only to find that the laptop that was there the night before had been disconnected. The girl preparing breakfast had no idea where it was. I soon got over it though when I noticed the magnificent breakfast spread that she was in the middle of arranging.
Even though I stuffed myself to the hilt on Thanksgiving, and even though I had to work on the Friday afterward, I was still ready to hit the ground running as we entered the Christmas season. Of course, the weekend that followed took some of the steam out of me and it would only be the beginning of the weeks of procrastination that would ensue before the holiday would actually arrive.
