"I also need some money for a treat, said the blonde." - Christi Adkins

I wasn’t all that familiar with Jackie Joseph, but after taking the time to look into her career before I got the chance to meet her, I found that her vocation had taken her all across the dial in film and on television. She was present as part of the Josie and the Pussycats reunion (for which she voiced Melody) at the Hollywood Show on February 12, 2011. I took more interest in her TV appearances in shows such as The Andy Griffith Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Doris Day Show, Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., The Brady Bunch, and Newhart.

She even had some interesting movie appearances: as the female lead in the original Little Shop of Horrors and as Sheila Futterman in both Gremlins films. But in the end, the photo I chose to have her sign was from The Andy Griffith Show. She had played the pivotal role of Ramona, the girlfriend of Ernest T. Bass in the episode My Fair Ernest T. Bass.

She was very pleasant and quite willing to pose for a picture with me at no additional charge.

Celebrity encounters of the Winter 2011 Hollywood Show will continue…

  1. I have found throughout my life that TV, movie and record stars are (for the most part) very down-to-earth and appreciate the fandom they have inspired. The ones with egos, well, they’re another story altogether. Out of dozens of celebs I have met in my lifetime, I only have two stories where the celeb isn’t shone in the brightest light.
