Ashleigh is now home safely napping so the worrying is over, but last night, Saturday, May 19, was her first prom. She went with her steady beau Derek “Carrot” Lovejoy. There was a minor hullabaloo while she got ready with Christi, Briana, Creed, as well as Christi’s parents Joy and Bob, over here to assist with Ashleigh’s hair and photo-snapping. Derek’s parents Dennis and Kellie came over as well to see the young couple off.
They left about 5:30 pm with the plans being to go out to eat at Sake Japanese steakhouse and then go on to the prom, which was being held at the Nutter Center. Afterward they were to remain there for the After-Prom festivities and games and then go to Ashleigh’s friend Hillary to spend the night. Those were the plans but of course, I have no way of knowing what they actually did…and I’m sure I don’t want to. But here are some photos commemorating the Prom pre-show. Ashleigh can’t be old enough for prom! She just can’t – I won’t hear it! I know I have a picture of me holding a baby Ashleigh somewhere…
